Describe your life before you had Weight Loss Surgery.
My weight affected my everyday life! Physically, Emotionally, Mentally, it was a battle to do basic tasks like tying my shoes, walking up stairs, doing anything physical. I was suffering from high blood pressure and boarder line sleep apnea.
How long were you considering Weight Loss Surgery before you came in? If you put off the decision, why did you wait? What eventually made you decide to “go for it”?
Weight loss surgery has always been on my mind. I’ve had a history of weight issues of weight loss and gain throughout my life. I took the leap when I reached my highest weight of 400lbs. I put it off due to the fear of a higher financial burden! My “go for it” moment was after I was able to afford it and wanted to take back my life.
What was it like to work with the team, from the start of your journey to today?
The team has always been flexible, understanding, and caring. I always felt understood and heard. The beginning of the journey was the scariest, but the multiple staff members involved made me feel at ease.
Describe your life now, after Weight Loss Surgery. What is the #1 thing you love being able to do now (that you could not do before)?
My life now after weight loss surgery is remarkable! truly feel like I have a second chance at life, which is how I approach everything now.
I took a leap of faith and now that decision to have surgery has opened up so many things and opportunities I have missed the past years I was a prisoner in my own body! I haven’t ran since 2018, now 7 months after my surgery I can run a 7:37 mile and I swim a mile a day under 28 minutes!
