Having embarked on his medical journey as a trauma and burn surgeon, Dr. Lundy’s path has been defined by his commitment to healing and restoring function to the hands and wrists of those he serves. His extensive experience in trauma care, acquired over 22 years of military service, has honed his ability to handle the most complex cases with skill and precision.

Dr. Lundy’s journey toward specializing in hand surgery began during his tenure at the US Army Burn Center, where he provided reconstructive care for upper extremity injuries. His passion for this specialty only intensified as he underwent formal training, culminating in a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the esteemed University of Pennsylvania.

Throughout his military career, Dr. Lundy’s dedication to service remained unwavering. He served multiple deployments in combat zones, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and Qatar, earning accolades for his courage and commitment to his fellow soldiers. Retiring after 27 years of service, Dr. Lundy and his wife, Catherine Callahan, made the decision to return to the capital area to continue their mission of providing exceptional care to the community.

Now a vital member of Capital Surgeons Group, Dr. Lundy offers comprehensive care for all hand and wrist disorders, blending his expertise in trauma, burn care, and critical care with a patient-centered approach. He is deeply involved in the Level 2 Trauma center, where he not only performs surgeries but also leads initiatives to enhance burn and soft tissue infection management.

Dr. Lundy’s dedication to community service extends beyond the walls of the hospital. He volunteers his time and expertise with organizations like the Get Up Project Hope Clinic, embodying his belief in the importance of giving back to those in need.
