Describe your life before you had Weight Loss Surgery.
I had reached 412 pounds. My back pain became so debilitating due to the weight that every task was a constant pain. I was sweating everywhere I went, anxious about what people thought of me and avoided looking at myself in the mirror. I HATED who I had physically become. I could not pursue my dreams due to physical limitations and felt like a failure.
How long were you considering Weight Loss Surgery before you came in? If you put off the decision, why did you wait? What eventually made you decide to “go for it”?
For years, I didn’t want the surgery because I wanted to be able to say I did it myself. I never saw the surgery as the easy way out or a cheat but I felt like I could still do it. I was being prideful and let ego get in the way of my health. Once I exceeded 400lbs, I knew it was time to put ego aside and do what was best for me.
What was it like to work with the team, from the start of your journey to today?
From the first consultation to surgery day, everyone was extremely helpful and supportive. All appointments were quick and easy, and I couldn’t have asked for a more detailed and smoother process
Describe your life now, after Weight Loss Surgery. What is the #1 thing you love being able to do now (that you could not do before)?
I am 1 year and 3 months post op gastric sleeve. I currently weigh 228lbs. That is a total loss of 184 lbs. in just over a year. I can run 2 miles without stopping, can do 4 pull ups in a row and can shop for clothes at any store versus buying from select oversized stores.
