Describe your life before you had Weight Loss Surgery.
Before weight loss surgery, I was unable to walk very far. I required knee surgery, but I weighed too much for it. This forced me to become a couch potato. I felt incredibly heavy, and the reality was that I was. Missing important family events because of this made me feel like a bull in a china shop.

How long were you considering Weight Loss Surgery before you came in? If you put off the decision, why did you wait? What eventually made you decide to “go for it”?
For years I said I would never have weight loss surgery. I felt it was the lazy person’s way out. However, when my beloved primary care doctor recommended it, and my health counselor explained the realities of long-term weight loss, I decided to go ahead and do it.

What was it like to work with the team, from the start of your journey to today?
Before I even met him, I had glowing reports from several doctors about my weight-loss surgeon! The process was fairly easy, though it does take time with testing, interviews, and so on. I was approved, and my surgery date was finalized. My surgeon is so easygoing, and what he told me to expect happened exactly as he described! I’m so glad I had the surgery – I feel like a new person. I’ve even been approved for knee surgery, which is a great sign! It takes time to adjust to my new body, but I absolutely don’t regret having weight-loss surgery.

Describe your life now, after Weight Loss Surgery. What is the #1 thing you love being able to do now (that you could not do before)?
Sitting down, I can now comfortably cross my legs and breathe easier. I don’t need all the medication I used to take. I actually enjoy looking in the mirror now, and I can even wear clothes two sizes smaller!
