Describe your life before you had Weight Loss Surgery.
Prior to my weight loss surgery, I was dealing with high blood pressure, sleep apnea, hormonal imbalances that caused fertility issues, and was considered pre-diabetic. My frustration was that I could try diet and exercise, even trending diets, and lose about 15 lbs, but then my body would just stop. I was so limited with what I could and couldn’t do, and just embarrassed by my appearance. No matter what I did, nothing worked, and I was under 40 years old.

How long were you considering Weight Loss Surgery before you came in? If you put off the decision, why did you wait? What eventually made you decide to “go for it”?
I had looked into weight loss surgery about 12 years ago but insurance wouldn’t cover it, and the out of pocket expense was too much at the time. Also, my support system was not that great and there were a lot of fears of what could happen.

What was it like to work with the team, from the start of your journey to today?
The medical team was amazing from the get go. They were patient with me, answered all my questions, and very encouraging. As I have met my goals and had my follow-up appointments, they have celebrated the milestones that I was hitting all along the way.

Describe your life now, after Weight Loss Surgery. What is the #1 thing you love being able to do now (that you could not do before)?
I can sleep now! My sleep apnea is gone, and I can easily sleep 8 hours and it’s actually restful. I’m medication-free now and have so much energy. I can run and play with my nieces and not get winded. Even working out has become so much easier.

I also have so much more confidence in myself and feel so much better about myself. I even feel more confident in my appearance now that I’m well-rested. This surgery saved my life.
